The Country Inbreds 4-3 The Town Chavs

The Sun was shining on Stade De Burythorpe in front of a big crowd in what was the first ever contest between the local rivals. Inbreds kicked down hill in the first half and after just 8 minutes were ahead when a whipped in corner by Mikey Brown was sliced by Slugger Slaughter into his own net to give the home side the lead. and soon is what 2-0 when Brown charged down the left before picking out Tidd who eventully got the ball under control before hammering the Inbreds into a two goal cushion, Chavs stepped up the pace and took control of the game and Punchard, Thackray and Towse all should have scored but sliced there shots wide from three yards (all shockers!!), Mikey Brown hit a fierce shot across Pugh which hit the post and was cleared off the line. The Chavs took command in the second half as they tried to find a breakthrough and on 57 minutes they scored when Dean Craigs low strike from 35 yards, crept in the corner after poor keeping from Steve Clay, Then Enter supersub Danny Wall he came off the bench, and scored the goal of the game when he ran into the left channel cut inside turning Foxton in and out before unleashing a thunderbolt just inside the area. the big crowd of 50 went wild when the fans favourites put the home side 3-1 infront. The Chavs responded and where soon back in it when Hood sent MacLoed clear who sent a delighful Cantona Esque chip over Clay into the net. Dan Wall nearly then made it four doing the same again cutting in and letting fire however Pugh matched him and tipped it over the bar. On 75 minutes The Chavs were level when Hood flicked on a header ( yes i won a header!!) into Macs path his jinked past D.Biggins and faked a shot grounding Matty Biggins in goal all was left for the Scottish Veteran was to roll the ball into the empty net, the best was still to come for Jon Mac with a Tim Cahill celebration with the corner flag (Genius). On 82 minutes Inbreds won the game with Clay out of goal and the away side piling forward for a winner Clay beat the offiside trap for the winner. It was a great day and another good day of socialising and bonding with many players, WAGS and supporters getting involved in the day.
